CERTIFICATE IN CAKE ARTISTRY

The Perfect Foundational Course for The Beginner Cake Artist

We offer a fully immersive and fully inclusive Cake Artistry course. This course will run for a duration of 3 weeks. Classes are on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays and may require some at-home activity(homework). Upon completion, all successful participants will receive ACTD internationally accredited certification!

Cost $3500TT or Two payments of $1750 inclusive of all tools, recipes and ingredients (Terms and conditions apply)!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Orientation

You will get acquainted with our studio, meet instructors and learn more about what the course is about and what your journey will be!

MODULE 3: Buttercream and Piping Techniques

Learn the difference between types of buttercream and when is the best time to use them. You will also learn classic piping techniques such as; shell designs, rosettes, writing and more!

MODULE 1: Kitchen Safety and Recipe Costing

This is a theory class that's perfect if you plan on monetizing your hobbies! You will learn an international standard for food preparation and sanitation as well as how to cost the recipes used in the course!

MODULE 4: Cake Filling and Flavouring

Learn to layer and level cakes, prepare dessert fillings and efficiently maximize your ingredients to reduce wastage.

MODULE 2: Cake Baking 101

Learn to make classic sponge cake, vanilla cake, chocolate, red velvet and marble cakes all from scratch! You will learn about different cake-mixing methods and how to identify different issues that can occur when baking cakes.

MODULE 5: Fondant Artistry

Make fondant from scratch and practice covering cake dummies with fondant. Learn different decorating techniques that would provide a great foundation for cake decorating.

FINAL ASSESMENT

Participants will be grouped in pairs and given a theme to create a three-tier cake presentation incorporating techniques that were learned in the course. The assessment will be carried out during a two-day period with the final presentation happening on day two. All days of the course will be seen as a precursor to prepare you for your final assessment!
