About the Recipe
This vanilla buttercream uses the all-in-one method. This is where all the ingredients are added into the bowl of a mixer and combined in one go! It's a very beginner-friendly method that's super easy to follow and makes for a smooth, sweet buttercream with a very stable consistency.
I always recommend sifting icing sugar once or twice whenever making this type of buttercream, simply because it makes for a smooth finish. Unsifted icing sugar can possibly cause your buttercream to have lumps and block your piping tips!
Ingredients
1lb unsalted butter (453g)
4 cups (540g)
2 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
Add the butter, sifted confectioner's sugar, salt and vanilla extract into your mixing bowl (if using a stand mixer it must be fitted with the paddle attachment).
Step 2
Mix all the ingredients together on low speed until combined, then increase the speed of the mixer and combine until the buttercream is light and fluffy.
